4 April 2012 - 된장 찌개 for lunch

After applying my eye medicine, I went out for my itinerary of the day. Yes! Yes! Finally, I can start my itinerary. Thank god, my eye was 99% better ^^ The itinerary of the day was to visit Taegeukdo Village, which was not far from Nampo-dong. My appetite was coming back and I decided to search for food before I embarked on my trip to the village.
I walked around the place and decided to settle for this restaurant.

This place caught my attention because it reminds me of "Red Pig" in Singapore ㅋㅋㅋ
I can't remember if there's any English translation for the menu but I don't think so.  Actually, I wanted 돌솥 비빔밥 Dolsot bibimbap but the lady told me they don't have it at the moment and offered me a few other choices. I settled on Doenjang jjigae 된장 찌개 since I haven't try it in Korea.  Doenjang jjigae 된장 찌개 usually consists of veggies, beancurd and seafood.

There was a group of guys drinking soju when I was there.  It was almost 11am but they looked half gone...as in drunk   ㅋㅋㅋ

반찬 and piping hot soup!!  I am always happy to see so many 반찬 banchan laid out in front of me ^^  I love hot soup!!   However, every time when I finished taking my pictures, the bubbling soup would have settled down ㅎㅎㅎ  Somehow, I felt this 뚝배기(black claypot) is slightly smaller than the one I used at home!  Hahahaaa

The soup base was made of seafood.

This is called "Jia Ga Ta Ta" in Hokkien!!  It means all wiped out!  Hahahaaa...
This meal cost me only KRW5000, which I felt was cheap!
Time for the oral medicine prescribed by the eye specialist.  One pack after every meal, three times a day. The way the pharmacist  packed the medicine reminds me of Chinese medicine.

I always prefer Chinese medicine to Western medicine especially Western cough syrup...No way I will take the cough syrup...YUckssssssss....If I consult a western doctor, I will always request for cough medicine in the form of pills...However, I am perfectly ok and in fact, love the taste of Chinese cough syrup!
